Balancing Stability and Passion
(1/1) All I can ever remember is wanting to be a musician as a child. But it was always the battle between music and something more stable like engineering. It was a struggle to make a decision, but I applied to several music schools and basically got accepted to all of them. Then I tried to make a career out of music and I felt like it was the worst timing ever, because the music industry was going through a complete revolution. With the streaming industry, everything changed, there were no opportunities. That led me back to my engineering skills and I felt that maybe I could combine them, working for music companies but doing engineering for them. I tried to keep a balance between the two but I realized there are very few opportunities in engineering within the music industry. These are small companies and there isn’t much of a career in this.
